Titan Plus Luxe Mattress Performance Ratings
Who We Recommend the Titan Plus Luxe For:
- Hot Sleepers – This mattress has a cooling design with gel infusions and coils that allow plenty of temperature regulation. In addition, there’s an option to add a cooling panel to the cover if you need more cooling to help you fall asleep. As Sean shared, “It was cool to the touch.”
- Heavier Folks – The Titan Plus Luxe is designed specifically for heavyweight sleepers who weigh over 230 pounds and prefer sleeping on their side or back. The mattress offers spinal support and pressure relief in the heaviest body areas. “As a plus-sized individual myself, something that I really appreciated about this mattress was that it generously supported my weight,” said Sean.
- Couples – Sean shared that this mattress has excellent edge support and motion isolation, so it’s a good option for couples. In addition, its medium-firm feel should fit partners with different sleeping habits or if one person doesn’t weigh as much.
Who We Don’t Recommend the Titan Plus Luxe For:
- Heavier stomach sleepers – Heavier stomach sleepers may prefer an eve firmer bed because they need more support to prevent areas where weight is often concentrated, such as the hips, from sinking in. The Titan Plus Luxe is medium-firm but may not do a good job keeping your hips aligned with your shoulders if you weigh over 230 pounds.
- Lightweight sleepers – Lightweight and even average-weight sleepers may find this bed too firm. The Titan Plus Luxe is designed for heavy sleepers, meaning that lightweight sleepers may not even activate the upper layers to benefit from the mattress.
Customer Reviews of the Titan Plus Luxe Mattress
Users on Titan by Brooklyn Bedding’s site have given the Titan Plus a 4.7 out of 5 stars. Customers find the Titan Plus mattress to offer exceptional durability and support, but some mention that it might be too firm for those who prefer a softer feel.

Firmness & Feel
Firmness Scale: 6.5/10
What does the firmness of a mattress mean? A mattress’s firmness refers to how soft or how firm it feels when you’re lying on it. Firmness and supportiveness differ in that firmness is an overall feeling, while supportiveness of a mattress specifically addresses how well the mattress keeps your spine neutral.
The Titan Plus Luxe from Brooklyn Bedding is constructed with a medium firmness, and Sean gave it a 6.5 out of 10 score. It’s specifically designed for plus-sized individuals, and because of this, the mattress may feel more firm for an average-weight person than it does for their heavier counterparts. The firmness level provides a comforting combination of soft pressure relief with firm support.
How Does It Feel?
The Titan Plus Luxe is heavy and large, which you’ll notice when it arrives at your doorstep. For this reason, it’s best to have someone help you because moving it around alone would be tricky, more so if you want to bring it upstairs.
The first thing you may notice is that the mattress is cool to the touch, as Sean pointed out. When you lie on the bed, you should feel gentle cradling and contouring while your heavier areas are well-supported.
Customer Reviews of the Titan Plus Luxe Mattress

Sleeping Positions for Different Body Types
The Titan Luxe Hybrid mattress can support up to 1,000 pounds total, which means a limit of 500 pounds per person for couples.
Side Sleepers
- Lightweight Sleepers – Lightweight side sleepers may find that this bed lacks the cushioning needed to give them a good night’s rest.
- Average-Weight Sleepers – The Titan Plus Luxe mattress may provide average-weight side sleepers with too much pressure in sensitive areas.
- Heavyweight Sleepers – Side sleepers who weigh 230 pounds or more should enjoy the medium firmness of this mattress that keeps their bodies from sinking too much.

Back Sleepers
- Lightweight Sleepers – Although the Titan Plus Luxe is designed for heavier sleepers, thanks to the moderate firmness level, some lightweight back sleepers may find this bed desirable.
- Average-Weight Sleepers – If you are an average-weight back sleeper, the Titan Plus Luxe Mattress is highly suitable for you. The firmness of this mattress should allow you to be aligned without sinking too much.
- Heavyweight Sleepers – Back sleepers who weigh at or above 230 pounds should be met with comforting contouring, lumbar support, and pressure relief around their hips.
Explore the best mattresses for back sleepers.
Stomach Sleepers
- Lightweight Sleepers – This mattress may come across as too firm for stomach sleepers. Although stomach sleepers don’t want to sink too much, those at lighter weights may not experience any give.
- Average-Weight Sleepers – Average-weight stomach sleepers may find that this bed’s firmness hits the sweet spot for them. They shouldn’t sink too much so their hips can remain level.
- Heavyweight Sleepers -The Titan Plus Luxe was designed with heavier-than-average sleepers in mind. Unfortunately, for those who prefer stomach snoozing, this mattress may not keep their hips from sinking too far down.

Pressure Relief & Pain
4/5
Pressure relief comes from distributing your weight evenly across the mattress. A bed that offers good pressure relief will do exactly that without concentrating your weight on the hips, lower back, and shoulders. The comfort layer, made from the brand’s proprietary TitanFlex™ foam, is designed to cushion sensitive areas which will help to alleviate nighttime pain and pressure. Additionally, the Titan Plus Luxe offers excellent lumbar relief.
Again, it’s worth mentioning that this bed could wind up being too firm for lighter individuals, which would impact pressure relief.
Is the Titan Plus Luxe Mattress Good for Pain Relief?
With targeted support coils and contouring foam, we feel that the Titan Plus Luxe can offer many types of sleeper comfort and pain relief. However, this is a fairly firm mattress that has been designed for larger bodies. While this bed should provide average-size and lightweight people ample support and excellent spinal alignment, the firmness may cause pressure buildup that can cause or worsen pain.
Back Pain
The Titan Plus Luxe offers excellent lumbar and edge-to-edge support for heavyweight sleepers. This will help keep your weight balanced when shifting and moving and your spine aligned when settled into your preferred sleep position. This will help alleviate or prevent back pain.
Explore more beds for back pain here.
Hip Pain
This mattress has incredibly supportive individually wrapped coils that offer targeted support. Side sleepers will notice that this mattress keeps their hips comfortably aligned without the mattress feeling too rigid.

Shoulder Pain
Although light and average-weight sleepers may feel that this bed is too firm on their shoulders, heavier-weight sleepers should have no issues. Their weight will allow this bed to respond and cushion them well. Find more mattresses for shoulder pain here.
Support
5/5
The Titan Plus Luxe is designed with support in mind as it features extra-supportive TitanCaliber™ coils. The coils are 8 inches tall, 13.5 gauge, and individually wrapped to move independently, offering more support where it’s needed the most. This targeted support is excellent for heavy sleepers as it focuses mostly on the heaviest parts of the body.
When you lie on the bed, you should feel the upper layers gently hug your curves just enough to provide comfort and pressure relief. In addition, you should feel your weight generously supported without the mattress becoming too soft.
For additional support, use a heavy-duty bed frame.
Motion Isolation
5/5
Couples need to sleep equally well, and when it comes to mattresses, this is often greatly impacted by motion transfer. With ample foam layers and individually wrapped coils, this mattress absorbs motion very well. Therefore, if one-half of a couple tosses and turns throughout the night, the other half shouldn’t be easily disturbed. Sean rated this bed well for limiting motion transfer, so we gave it a 5 out of 5 here.
Temperature Regulation / Cooling
4/5
Hybrids are known to be cooler than all-foam mattresses because they have coils that promote airflow. In addition, the Titan Plus Luxe has gel infused into the first foam layer designed to dissipate heat. You can choose the GlacioTex™ Cooling Cover that should amplify the cooling effect. Although the mattress provides sufficient breathability and is already cool to the touch, the GlacioTex™ cover enhances this even more. If you opt for the GlacioTex™ cover, the Plank’s cooling score becomes a 5/5.
Bounce
4/5
The Titan Plus Luxe uses individually wrapped, 8-inch TitanCaliber™ coils. This layer provides bounce, allowing for easy repositioning for combination sleepers and sexually active couples. Although the memory foam will contour around your body, you shouldn’t feel stuck in this bed thanks to the innerspring unit.
Edge Support
5/5
A bed with solid edge support prevents sagging around the perimeter of the bed. We found that the Titan Plus Luxe provides exemplary edge support. This feature is beneficial for couples who like to utilize the whole sleeping surface of their mattress because they can sleep on the edge without the fear of falling out. Good edge support can also help those with mobility issues get out of bed more efficiently.
Performance for Couples
5/5
The edge-to-edge support coupled with the great motion transfer, make the Titan Plus Luxe an excellent mattress for couples. It also has a 1,000-pound weight capacity, which will make it a supportive mattress for heavyweight pairings. Given that this mattress is good for multiple sleep positions, this makes it a winner for couples who have different preferred sleep positions.

Preference-based Features
Free Shipping and Returns
Brooklyn Bedding offers free shipping and returns, although you have to try the mattress for 30 nights before returning it. After that, if you decide it’s not the right fit for you, the company may send you a topper, exchange the mattress, or refund your money.
Durability
This mattress looks and feels durable as it’s made from quality materials that should last a long time. Plus, it’s constructed for heavier sleepers, so it’s unlikely to sag for at least ten years, thanks to its strong coils and high-density foams.
Bed-in-a-Box
The Titan Plus Luxe is shipped in a box, which makes it easier to move from your doorstep to your bedroom. However, we already mentioned this is a heavy mattress, so you may still need someone to help you move the box around.
Compatible with Various Bases
Brooklyn Bedding advises using a foundation with solid support and minimal to no flex. This means you can use slatted wood or metal foundations where the slats aren’t more than 4 inches apart. You can also use wood or metal foundations and solid platforms.
Made in the USA
The Titan Plus Luxe comes from Brooklyn Bedding, who makes their mattresses at their factory in Phoenix, Arizona.
Construction: What’s Inside the Titan Plus Luxe?
The Titan Plus Luxe features six layers and is 13 inches tall. The bed feels responsive, bouncy, and easy to move on, although it allows only a little contouring. The construction starts with a soft cover quilted with an inch of gel memory foam. You can also get an optional cooling panel made from phase-change material if you need advanced cooling.
- Below the pillowtop is a layer of TitanFlex™ foam designed to relieve pressure by cushioning all the sensitive areas.
- Going further down you will find Energex™ foam, designed to offer deeper compression support that is crucial for heavier bodies. The Energex™ foam allows a bit of contouring before the support layer.
- The support layer of the Titan Plus Luxe has 8-inch TitanCaliber™ coils individually wrapped for maximum motion isolation. The coils provide bounce and support while promoting airflow through the foam layers.
- The base layer is made from high-density foam supporting the coil layer above. The foam is one inch tall, giving the entire bed structure, enhancing stability and durability.
The Titan Plus Luxe is excellent for hot sleepers who like sleeping “on the bed” instead of “in it”. The mattress is available in seven standard sizes, all of which have the same layers but the price varies depending on whether you want the optional cooling panel. Additionally, Brooklyn Bedding advises using foundations with solid support because the Titan Plus Luxe weighs 75 to 135 pounds.
Unboxing & Off-Gassing
Depending on the size that you order, the Titan Plus Luxe will weigh between 75 and 135 pounds. Therefore, maneuvering the box is probably not something you want to take on solo. Once you have taken your compressed mattress out of the box, position it on your frame, and carefully cut the plastic wrapping away.
You will notice an odor from the foam layers, but don’t be alarmed. Foams and other materials often release relatively harmless but smelly volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the air. It may seem strong at first, but it will quickly dissipate.
Certifications
- CertiPUR-US® Certified – The foams in this bed are CertiPUR-US® certified. CertiPUR-US® is a third-party program that ensures the foams meet rigorous health and safety standards. This means they don’t contain harmful substances like ozone depleters, PBDEs, heavy metals, formaldehyde, and phthalates. They should also have low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions.
Noteworthy Updates:
Brooklyn Bedding has recently changed the names of some of their mattresses. The Titan Plus Luxe was previously known as the Titan Luxe Hybrid.

Our Verdict
After testing the Titan Plus Luxe, it received a 4.5 out of 5 rating. We feel this mattress is a fantastic match for heavier sleepers. We recommend the mattress for several reasons, but one of its main selling points is the superior construction that supports extra weight without allowing pressure to build up.
The mattress is excellent for side and back sleepers weighing over 230 pounds. In addition, the Titan Plus Luxe is helpful for heavier couples and those who sleep hot.
Heavier bodies should find abundant support in the eight-inch steel coils that are individually wrapped for motion isolation and bounce. The bed’s value, supportive construction, and pressure-relieving capabilities make it a favorite among heavy sleepers.
